Michele and Alexia have lived in Vermont for more than a decade. 

 

Over the summer of 2020, Michele and Alexia traveled to all 251 towns in Vermont and documented their journey by taking photos of each town’s welcome sign. For the towns that didn’t have welcome signs, they photographed other prominent signage, such as fire departments, schools, general stores, and town clerks offices. 

To celebrate their completed quest, Michele and Alexia contracted a local young artist, Aiden Cole, to create a piece of artwork that incorporated all their photos into a coherent map of the state. 

Local interest in the map inspired the mother-daughter duo to sell the maps, donating the proceeds to the state-wide Vermont Local Foodbank. You can purchase the Vermont 251 Map on our website, The Vermont Book Shop, and Middlebury Frameshop & Gallery.
